In August of 2013 I feel back into Shadowrun. I had played a little back in 91. I loved the setting but hated the rules. With the net being such a great tool for RPG’s now i looked into information on the setting. and how the new rules worked. I found the Critical glitch podcast and loved it! But then forgot about it for a few months when life got in the way. Fast forward to early November of last year. My GF was away and i was looking for a gaming podcast to do while making myself dinner. For the life of me i couldn’t remember the name (critical glitch). So i just searched for “Shadowrun Podscast.
Now 11-ish months later imm running Shadowrun for my gaming group. Out of the 8 of us one myself and one other had any experience in the world, and it was from days long past.
But with the help of things i learned from your show(s) and getting my pc’s to listen to the actual play to help with some basic understanding (of the game flow and rules structure). I must say we are having whole heaps of fun! You had a big part in that. For that ,I want to say thank you.
So, first off, happy birthday Arcology! You both have really put out a terrific podcast, and I’ve enjoyed it immensely. I first wanted to say congrats, second to say thanks, and third I wanted to touch on the possibility of advertisements, which you mentioned in the episode. My wife and I are pretty voracious podcast listeners in general. We listen to a lot of NPR podcasts, SYSK, etc, and when it comes time to buy something online, or think about what businesses we want to support, we often think of the advertisers who support our favorite podcasters. So, you guys keep doing what you’re doing, get those advertising dollars, and we’ll do our best to support the businesses that support you.
Thank you! That’s kind of you to say.
Oh my, this runner story hit close to home 🙁
And you are still gaining new listeners!
Vox, that was such an awesome interview! I don’t recall if you ever let it slip what you do in real life, but you totally seem like a professional journalist. And you’re clearly a natural born writer in how well you were able to discuss back and forth the themes and genres that build Shadowrun with Jason Hardy! Really great episode. I love the game even more now.
Thank you! I’ve never been a professional journalist and just did my best to imitate my favorite NPR interviewers. Glad you enjoyed the interview! 🙂
