Hey Omae, I think it would be cool to share the stories of the various contacts on the mean streets of Seattle. The coolest thing about shadowrun is the setting, and I would love to hear about the people of the world in which our characters live. Plus I’m sitting here trying to come up with a Fixer for my new shadowrunner, Quebec, and I can’t think of anything.
I totally agree with you on that – the one thing I love about Shadowrun (or any setting, for that matter) are the characters. We will certainly delve into that in a future episode! In the meantime, here are a few fixer ideas I had off the top of my head:
1. Saul Goodman (from AMC’s fanfreakingtastic “Breaking Bad”)
Saul is most definitely a fixer: he gets people together with jobs (most of which prefer to stay below the radar). That, and if you’ve seen the show you know what a character he is. He’s currently acting as a fixer in our campaign. 🙂
2. John Doe: Department of Workforce Development worker
We’ll call him “John Doe” here, but obviously call him whatever you please. John works dutifully at the local DWD helping people get jobs. Occasionally, he’s run into folks whose qualifications make them a little less likely to score “traditional” jobs. For these folks, John has started to direct them toward more alternative opportunities…
3. Marty: Super-Fixer
(Thanks go out to Rick on this one.) Marty maintains a well-guarded office in an underground location (and likely others around the city). The interior windows display live Seattle (or name your location) city scenery, as if the office were aboveground. Marty is very businesslike in his dealings and appearance and works more with higher-level corporate jobs. Plus: his secretary, a beautiful blonde woman named Gwen, is probably one of the most dangerous street samurai in the city.
